Friday's wedding...

If you happened to walk past David Wayman Flowers last Friday morning around 9am, you would have witnessed David, Elaine and Charlotte preparing for Nigel and Jen's wedding in Knutsford. With the bridal bouquet, two adult bridesmaid bouquets, two flower girl pomanders and 40 buttonholes to create, it was all stations go!

We used beautiful pink Sweet Dolomiti roses, gypsophilia, white thistles, dill and berried eucalyptus to create Jen's bouquet, making smaller versions for the baby bridesmaid. The baby bridesmaids carried dainty gypsophilia pomanders and the bridal party each wore a white lisianthus and berried eucalyptus buttonhole. It was a perfect autumn day and Jen and Nigel's venue (The Mere Golf and Country Club in Knutsford) looked fantastic - congratulations to the happy couple!

If you are looking for fantastic flowers for your wedding day, don't hesitate to contact David on 0161 839 4849 for a free consultation, no matter how big or small your day!

Ten Little Teapots...

Our shop was ready to celebrate last Saturday when we held a 10th birthday party for the lovely Nicole and her 9 friends. Pink lemonade, cupcakes, marshmallows and balloons transformed the shop into the perfect party scene, and we had pastel pink gerberas, dahlias and roses ready and waiting.

Each guest was greeted with a wicker teapot, ready to fill with flowers of their choice. Under David's guidance, the girls created some beautiful arrangements which they took home to share with family and friends at the end of the party. The girls danced the afternoon away listening to some of their favourite songs whilst they worked, and were thrilled with their final teapots. We had some brilliant designs and David enjoyed teaching such an enthusiastic and creative group.

If you would like more information on holding a special event or alternative party at David Wayman Flowers, don't hesitate to contact us on 0161 839 4849 or drop us an email at mail@davidwayman.co.uk. We can tailor our workshops to suit your occasion, just give us a call.

Gift Wrap!

One of our customers today wanted to add fresh flowers to decorate a special gift from Flannels on The Avenue.

I thought this was a really sweet idea, taking gift wrapping to a whole new level.

Summer Workshop

Over the last 4 months we have been swamped at our weekend workshops and it has been a real pleasure meeting some fantastic people who have showed an enormous amount of talent!

We are running our next season of workshops starting in August and they are suitable for all abilities, we have split the session into 2 parts, the first half being a taster session, with the option to continue on to something more advanced for the second half.

During the break we will provide you with afternoon tea.
(Comprising of tea, coffee, a selection of sandwiches and cakes).

SATURDAY TASTER - £25.00
Each day begins with an introduction by David where he will run through what to expect for the session, he will discuss the choices for the flowers and welcome any questions. This is then followed by a demonstration of the arrangement. This season we are concentrating on a table centre piece. We then invite you to get creative, using all flowers and equipment supplied, you can impress us with your natural flare!

SATURDAY FULL SESSION - £40.00
Following on from the first session, once your creative juices are flowing we concentrate on our second piece. We had so many requests and questions during our previous workshops on Corsage & Buttonholes we've decided to dedicate this to you. David will demonstrate the art of creating a stunning corsage and buttonhole followed by once again giving you the opportunity to get creative.

Not only do you get expert tuition, all flowers and equipment provided, you're also welcome take home and impress your friends & family with your finished pieces!

1 MONTH IN!

Well, I'm glad to say that things are going great as we approach the end of our first month on The Avenue.

Im am so pleased to meet such lovely customers down in Spinningfields and with the promise of good weather we can but hope that more people will stumble upon our beautiful little florists.

Spring is well and truly on its way, bringing with it the warmer weather (fingers crossed) and longer days, so even if your not looking for flowers, there are loads of reasons to visit Spinningfields, from the fabulous Oast House and The Alchemist with their ample outside seating areas to the Spinningfields Duck Race. Keep your eyes peeled and your ear to the ground for more exciting stuff down in Spinningfields, we hear that Screenfields will be back earlier in the year too!

We are in the process of updating our website to include more options for Mothers Day! Visit our online shop for more details.

I am demonstrating for Jo Malone at Selfridges this week to promote their latest London Blooms fragrances. Please feel free to come along 6th March Selfridges Exchange Square 6pm-7pm, Saturday 10th March Selfridges Exchange Square and Thursday 15th March at Selfridges Trafford Centre.

WELCOME TO MY FIRST BLOG!

Wow, what a week it's been. I would just like to thank everyone who has already been down to see me at The Avenue & I would like to thank everyone for their help, friends and family, who have been amazing during the last manic few weeks. I really couldn't have done it without each and every one of you.

Valentines is always a crazy time for me, but so rewarding, I just love being part of the celebration of so many peoples relationships.

I'm really looking forward to the Jo Malone sessions coming up, I've been a fan of the fragrances and candles for a very long time and cant wait to meet the crowds who'll be there to experience their new fragrances.

With mothers day around the corner its the perfect opportunity to get another one of our workshops sorted, the mums have loved them in the past and it gives me a great opportunity to get to know more about my clients and what they like and what they want to see more of.

We've  seen our account base grow within the last few weeks to include The Slug & Lettuce, Spinningfields and Virgin Money, King Street and we are really looking forward to developing long and lasting relationships with them in the future.
If you have any questions, or would like any advise about anything flowers, then please email me. I love to get feedback or questions and if I can help, then I will feature them in up and coming newsletters.
